A short, intensive and free course, our Fastrack programme has been specifically designed to support progression on to a range of undergraduate degrees at Edge Hill. Aimed at mature learners who have been out of study for at least 2 years, and do not hold the required entry qualifications, you will be equipped with the confidence, familiarisation and essential academic skills required to study at degree level.

Take the fear out of academic study. Gain essential academic skills. Develop confidence and subject knowledge. Our free, 7-week Fastrack programme provides access to a range of undergraduate degrees at Edge Hill.

During the one week of preparation and six weeks of full-time study, you will receive guidance and take part in practical exercises designed to help develop key skills such as essay writing, presentation skills and note taking.

If you’re a mature learner looking to return to study, not currently in education or training, and don’t currently have the relevant qualifications to study at degree level, our quick yet intensive Fastrack programme will prepare you with all that you need to begin undergraduate study with us.

  • It isn’t too late to study a degree. Fastrack is a quick, free and intensive way to gain access to a degree at Edge Hill;
  • Perfect preparation for a degree. Get up to date with the latest study skills and subject knowledge to support a smooth transition on to your degree. You’ll complete two modules, one which relates to your subject choice and the other which focuses on study skills training;
  • After completing our Fastrack programme, you will have the skills and knowledge needed to proceed onto a relevant degree at Edge Hill. Places are subject to availability and additional progression criteria may apply.

The availability of Fastrack subjects and progression routes varies for each academic year. Please note that there are currently no Fastrack routes for prospective Midwifery, Nursing & Social Work (dual award), Nursing (Child), Paramedic Practice, Social Work, or Sport and Physical Activity students.
