Fastrack: Preparation for Higher Education

If you have the ability to study for a degree but lack the necessary qualifications, study skills or subject knowledge, our free Fastrack programme for adults can help you progress into higher level study and be considered for a place on a degree in your chosen subject at Edge Hill University.

Our 7-week Fastrack programme is free of charge and provides intensive training in essential academic skills to prepare you for higher education. Comprising of one week of preparation and six weeks of full-time study, it may be particularly suitable if you are not currently in education or training but have relevant work/life experience.

Successful completion of Fastrack will demonstrate that you are ready to study a particular subject with us, in lieu of achieving the UCAS Tariff points in the entry criteria. The specific programme(s) you may be eligible to progress onto will be determined by the Fastrack subject you choose.

  • Choose from a wide variety of Fastrack subjects;
  • Enhance your subject knowledge and take the fear out of academic study;
  • Develop essential skills including note-taking, essay writing, exam techniques and teamwork and receive an introduction to IT.
