Whether you’re returning to education or haven’t met the traditional entry requirements, our Foundation Centre will help you succeed in your transition into higher education. You’ll take the next step with confidence as you’re supported by experienced staff who are committed to helping you succeed. No matter your background or previous qualifications, your journey to university starts with us.

Our STEM and Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences foundation year pathways offer you the support you need to progress onto many of our undergraduate degrees. Designed for adults looking to return to higher education, Fastrack is a 7 week preparation course that enhances your knowledge of your chosen subject and develops your academic skills, giving you the assurance you need to take your next step. We’ve helped thousands of people thrive in university over the last 25 years. Visit this page for further information on how to apply.

If you don’t have the necessary GCSE grades for your chosen degree, our Equivalency programmes in English, Mathematics and Science provide flexible options to meet the entry requirements you need. This includes tutor-led revision and standalone exams with up to three attempts at no extra cost.

Do you want to study a foreign language? Our optional 20-credit language modules are available to current students at either a beginner level or those with prior qualifications. Gain an an insight into a different culture and see the world from a new perspective. You’ll broaden your skill set and enhance your employability in French, Spanish, German or Italian.

Our Fastrack programme is free of charge, and you’re guaranteed a place on one of our undergraduate degrees once you’ve successfully completed this course.

Our language modules open the possibility of living, studying or working abroad.

We’re introducing new Foundation year pathways to provide even more opportunities including law, sports and psychology.

Based in 160 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, the Edge Hill University campus is a unique and inspirational place to study. Industry standard resources and cutting edge technology combine to make an interactive and highly advanced teaching and learning environment.

Everything you could want is on one site, from fantastic modern spaces in which you can study and socialise, more than 2,300 rooms in halls of residence, and 60 acres of sport and leisure facilities.

There is also a University library which stocks around 200,000 items, including books, journals, e-resources and multimedia. In addition, you can access PCs, laptops, software and assistive technologies. Dedicated support is available for students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD).
