Our partnerships allow us to have close connections with leading organisations. These connections mean that our university’s work can have a real social impact. We can also provide opportunities for our students, and support the wider community.
Our collaborations continue to inspire, education, and enable communities. We do this through providing a boost for:
- education
- health
- economic prospects
- young people
through pioneering sports and arts-based programmes.
Our key partnerships
Shakespeare North Playhouse is delighted to announce Edge Hill University as the first major higher education partnership for the theatre, which opened in 2022.
This groundbreaking new collaboration promises to drive social impact and foster place-based change by bringing together the strengths of both organisations.
Through the power of storytelling, creativity and learning, this partnership will directly contribute to the wellbeing of the region. Both institutions are committed to enhancing the employability of young people by equipping them with vital skills for the future.
The partnership will offer hands-on opportunities, from student placements to the development of creative solutions for real-world challenges, bridging the gap between education and employment.
In addition to this, workshops delivered in local schools will inspire a new generation to engage with culture in ways that support both personal and professional development.
Delegates from China’s leading teacher training university visited our campus in July 2023 to celebrate 30 years of partnership working.
Edge Hill, through its Faculty of Education, is one of several foreign universities partnered with Chongqing Normal University in a Confucius Institute.
It promotes cultural exchange and language learning. This includes growing the number of Mandarin teachers across the North West of England and encouraging more schools to offer language classes. We recognise that not only is Mandarin the first language spoken by many, but the sustained growth of China means that knowledge of Mandarin is becoming a key employability skill.
