The Higher and Degree Apprenticeships team ensures that the University’s degree apprenticeships are delivered appropriately. They collaborate closely with faculties who deliver the apprenticeships as well as with the employers who are involved in the courses. What Higher and Degree Apprenticeships do we offer?
Registered nurse
A two-year top-up apprenticeship leading to a BSc (Hons) Nursing award and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Nursing Associate
A two-year apprenticeship leading to a FdSc Nursing Associate award and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), based at Edge Hill University Campus.
Advanced Clinical Practioner
A three-year apprenticeship leading to an MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner award which meets Health Education North West’s requirements to practice at an advanced level across the health professions spectrum.
Operating Department Practioner
A three-year apprenticeship leading to a BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice. Following graduation, you’ll be able to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a qualified ODP.
All apprenticeships have an end-point assessment (EPA) as part of the apprenticeship standard. Edge Hill University is an Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) approved end-point assessment organisation (EPAO), making us both the training provider and EPAO. As such, with the EPA being essential to the programme, it is carried out independently to the training provided by us to ensure fairness.
