What is the difference between the Thrive and Thrive Plus Programme?
Thrive is a free, year-long support programme for foundation / first-year Edge Hill students from backgrounds that are traditionally under-represented at university. It’s designed to help you settle in, build connections, and make the most of your university experience.
Thrive Plus supports you beyond your first year. You’ll continue to get access to career events, mentoring, Thrive Fund opportunities, and peer support so you can keep building your skills and developing throughout your degree.
Yes, you can but you we recommend participating from the beginning of year 1 to fully maximise the benefits the programme can bring.
What if I’m not eligible for Thrive?
Don’t worry if Thrive is not the right fit for you, there are still plenty of ways to access support. Catalyst specialist support can help you thrive on your student journey and you can learn how to access everything you’ll need in your Introduction to Catalyst Specialist Support Toolkit.
How much does Thrive cost?
Nothing! Thrive and Thrive plus is completely free for all eligible students.
Do I have to take part in every activity?
We’d recommend that you do but Thrive is flexible, so you can choose the opportunities that interest you and fit your schedule. You can take part in as much or as little as you like.
When does Thrive start?
Your Thrive experience begins before you even arrive on campus, with online pre-arrival sessions to help you prepare for university life. Activities, events, and opportunities then continue throughout your first year and beyond with Thrive Plus! You can also opt in at different points throughout your first year.
How do I register for Thrive plus?
You don’t need to. You will receive regular updates via email highlighting what’s still on offer for you and how to take part in our mentoring and Action Learning Set opportunities.
