UniSkills workshops and webinars are an opportunity for a deeper dive into a specific skill that will support you on your academic journey. Facilitated by our friendly and knowledgeable Academic Skills Advisors, these sessions provide an informal safe space where you will be supported alongside other students in a small group setting.
Uniskills workshops and webinars run throughout the academic year and cover a range of key academic skills including:
Academic reading, writing and referencing
Finding academic print and digital resources
Conducting a literature review
Effective exam preparation
Presentation skills
You can explore the current timetable below, and all workshops and webinars are linked to their unique event page but you will need to be logged into the UniSkills portal to go direct to each event to book your place!
How to book a UniSkills Workshop
You can view and book on all our UniSkills Workshops via the UniSkills portal.
When you log in to the UniSkills portal and click into any of the UniSkills Workshops (which are listed under Events) you will be able to read all about the workshop, what the session covers and find out more about the available date(s), time(s) and location(s) prior to booking.
Once you’ve registered your place you will also receive all the information you need to join the workshop in a booking confirmation email.
All workshop emails will be sent to your student email address. If you don’t spot them in your main inbox you may need to check we’ve not slipped into your junk / spam folder.
The great thing is there are no limits as to how many UniSkills Workshops you attend – so feel free to book on as many as you need!

Returning to Learning meet on alternate Wednesdays throughout the year in the Willow Room, 1st floor of Catalyst. You can book your place in advance online (booking links below) or drop-in any time between 1-3pm for a cuppa and a chat (tea, coffee and biscuits are provided!).
