Facilities and hire
At Edge Hill Sport, we offer some of the best sporting facilities in the region that are fully accessible to disabled people and contain excellent provision for both indoor and outdoor sports.
Our facilities span over two sites across the Ormskirk campus, the main Sports Centre building and the Wilson building, and are available to hire to students, staff and the local community. Selected court hire is included within our membership packages or can also be booked and paid for on a casual basis. Alternatively we also offer block booking packages through our contract hire process.
Sports facilities
In order to hire facilities you will need to have your details registered on our online system by either signing up for a paid membership or a casual (pay as you go) membership. Some activities and facilities may require you to take out a contract booking which can be organised by our administration team. More information regarding our facilities and how to book can be found from our Standard Activities table further down this page.
Please note that parking restrictions are in operation to non-permit holders. Please see further information on Customer Parking for details.
Standard activities
Information regarding facilities for activities and how to book them are shown below. Providing the booking does not require multiple facilities or activities, or have more than 10 spectators then you may be available to book casually up to 7 days in advance via our online system. Alternatively an enquiry can be made for any events or block booking of facilities via [email protected].
Risk assessments will be required for any non standard activities as identified on the above table. Facility risk assessments are available on our website to indicate how Edge Hill Sport (EHS) control the risk with the provision of the area.
Risk assessments and hirer responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the hirer to develop and adhere to their own risk assessments for the activities they are delivering, as well as to supervise participants. They should include information such as are the participants fit enough to take part, are any coaches/instructors competent, how many adults will be present to supervise children being brought in by their booking etc. It is also the hirer’s responsibility to be able to make available these activity risk assessments to EHS and ensure that they are read and understood by all attendees of their sessions. Any activities not stated on the risk assessment will not be able to go ahead.
