September annual Sports Centre EHU student membership
Our September annual Sport Centre student membership is now available for a discounted rate of £120 if purchased before 1 October 2026 (£140 thereafter).
All current Edge Hill University students are eligible for an annual Peak Sports Centre membership. Memberships are available for both September and January intakes and run until fixed expiry dates. All students that are training with or representing Edge Hill University either individually or as part of a team must hold a valid Team Edge Hill membership.

Team Edge Hill / Active Plus membership
All students that are training with or representing Edge Hill University either individually or as part of a team must hold a valid Team Edge Hill membership.

The majority of competitions are organised by British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) although some competitions may sit outside BUCS. These membership fees contribute towards insurance, facility hire, officials, entry fees, and affiliations, transport, and playing kits among other expenses.
This membership includes all membership benefits included in the Active Plus membership as well as access to Team Edge Hill clubs.
Students who are not part of Team Edge Hill can still purchase this membership should they just wish to have the Active Plus membership benefits.

If you are unsure of whether to take out a membership, then we offer a free trial to all Edge Hill students running in September and January. We also offer a discounted rate on our annual student Sports Centre membership during the duration of the trial dates.

If you are unsure of whether to take out a membership, then we offer a free 7 day Sports Centre staff trial membership to all Edge Hill University staff. These are limited to one per person. You will need to have a valid Edge Hill University staff email address in order to register and it can only be applied for in the Centre at our Reception desk, where proof of staff ID will be sought.
Free swimming for EHU pregnant staff
EHU staff who are currently pregnant are entitled to a free Active Plus membership for the duration of their pregnancy. More information can be found via Human Resources or their line manager.
A Casual Staff membership will be required prior to taking out the Active Plus membership. This can be signed up free of charge on our online system.

The corporate discounted rate for our Sports Centre Peak membership is available to Edge Hill alumni, employees from WLBC, LCC, Blue Light card holders, and LPS members (and junior LPS member parents) upon proof of identification. Alumni should provide a copy of your graduate certificate or copy of transcript or written confirmation from the alumni team.
Don’t want to commit just yet? The casual memberships are available for all members and allows you the flexibility to pay for your activities each time you visit. Registering as a casual user is free and can be done easily online. For juniors under 8 years of age, it is only mandatory for attending our gymnastics club.

You will receive a wristband as part of your membership. Wristbands are mandatory to access the lockers, Swimming Pool, Health Suite including sauna and steam room, dance studio exercise classes and Fitness Suite.
Your initial band will be issued free of charge as part of your membership. Charges will apply for not bringing your wristband if attending the fitness suite, swimming pool or an exercise class or for replacement bands. Please see our Activities Pricelist for band charges.
Collection
Wristbands are issued from reception upon your first visit. When you collect your band, you will be required to have your photograph taken for your account and your details checked to ensure they are current.

Your initial band will be issued free of charge as part of your membership. Charges will apply for not bringing your wristband if attending the fitness suite, swimming pool or an exercise class or for replacement bands. Please see our Activities Pricelist for band charges.
There are access control readers placed outside the main doors of the Swimming Pool and Health Suite and on the door of the Dance Studio and Fitness Suite.
All members are required to register their visits on the door access control points for these facilities by holding your band against the appropriate reader. Once done the access light on the access control point will turn green. Should the access light turn red then your visit has not been registered and you are required to report to reception who will investigate the access issue. Please do not hold the door open for other users or prop doors open. The swimming pool door will remain open however all other doors will open manually.
Lockers
Lockers are free to use whilst using our facility, however they can only be locked using a membership wristband. Please read through our locker use policy for further information.
Yes, you can use your band whilst in the swimming pool, the Health Suite and showers.
Do the bands come in any other sizes?
The bands come in one standard size for all members.
If I leave Edge Hill Sport and return a year or so later will I still need to purchase another band?
Yes, if you are unable to produce your previous band then you will be charged for a replacement one. Please see our Activities Pricelist for band charges.
If I forget my band, can I borrow another one for the day?
Yes, if you forget to bring your band another can be borrowed for the day from Reception for a small charge. This must be returned at the end of your visit. Please see our Activities Pricelist for band charges.
