Due to the ongoing situation with coronavirus (COVID-19) we have taken the decision to replace face to face academic skills support with virtual support for the foreseeable future. If you would like to book a place on one of our UniSkills webinar workshops you can do so in the usual way as outlined in the Workshops Available tab below.
What is a UniSkills Workshops?
UniSkills workshops are an opportunity for a deeper dive into a specific skill that will support you on your academic journey. Facilitated by our friendly and knowledgeable Academic Skills Advisors, the workshops provide an informal safe space where you will be supported alongside other students in a small group setting.
The workshops are open to students across all levels of study and you are welcome to attend as many as you like. Most workshops are based in the Willow room in Catalyst (Ormskirk campus) but we also run workshops at the St James site (Manchester). This academic year we are also facilitating online workshops that you can access wherever you are – look out for the webinar symbol when booking.
Our Uniskills workshops run throughout the academic year and cover a range of key academic skills including:
- Academic reading, writing and referencing
- Effective exam preparation
- Finding academic print and digital resources
- Conducting a literature review
- Presentation skills
- And much more…
Attendance at some of the workshops counts towards the Careers Extra Edge certificate.
