Campus Sport offers relaxed, non-competitive sessions for students, staff, and the local community. It’s a great way to stay active, meet new people, and try a variety of sports — no matter your ability. Everyone’s welcome in our friendly, inclusive environment.
Programme sessions
Enjoy a wide range of recreational sports including badminton, netball, football, volleyball, and more. Sessions are free for Edge Hill Sport members and just between £1 and £3 for non-members.
Wear what feels comfortable (as long as it’s safe), and all equipment is provided. Simply book online and turn up — no pressure to attend weekly and no experience necessary. It’s a great way to stay active, meet new people, and try something new.
If you are not a Sports Centre member then students can book online using their student number and staff and community will need a casual membership, which they can sign up online for free.
Timetable
We are a recreational rounders team that welcomes everyone to our weekly sessions. Our main focus is to have fun and play games and we also practice batting and fielding exercises to make our games more enjoyable. Rounders is brilliant way to keep fit and to take a break.

Students at St James’ Campus, Manchester
Agreement between Edge Hill University, University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University to allow Edge Hill students to access the Sports sessions and Teams at Manchester Campuses
This agreement only applies to Edge Hill University (EHU) students with courses primarily based at Edge Hill’s St James’ Campus in Manchester.
These students can access the sports sessions of University of Manchester (UoM) and Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) including potentially attending training sessions, Intra Mural activity and recreational sport programmes. The actual opportunities available will depend upon the institution and the popularity of the activity.
EHU students will pay the same rates as UoM and MMU students to attend these sessions. Each student will need to meet the same qualifying criteria to participate, and space is subject to availability (the students of the host institutions will take priority). To find more information about the programmes available please visit the website of the Universities:
MMU – https://www.mmu.ac.uk/sport
UoM – https://www.sport.manchester.ac.uk/sport-and-activity/
EHU students should then contact the relevant institution to book onto sessions:
MMU – [email protected]
UoM – [email protected]
To represent EHU in BUCS competitions the EHU student must follow the individual club’s team selection policy (which may include attending training at EHU). The Team Edge Hill fees will apply.
They will not be eligible to participate in BUCS fixtures for any other university (any exemptions must be within BUCS regulations).
EHU students can use the BUCS Universal Gym membership to access the Fitness facilities at the university as per the scheme guidelines.
