Staff Wellbeing
We have many policies and guides in place designed to support and protect the wellbeing of staff at Edge Hill University.
Examples of these policies include a Guide to Workplace Wellbeing, Guidance policies relating to stress, substance misuse, and support available to employees with disabilities. A full list of HR policies and documents relating to staff wellbeing can be found on our internal Wiki pages for staff to view.
This includes policies and supporting documents relating to Equality and Diversity, including the EHU Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, Supporting Transgender and Non-Binary Staff and Students and Guidance on Supporting Staff with a Disability to name a few.
Can’t Buy My Silence
We commit to not using Non-Disclosure Agreements to silence people who come forward to raise complaints of sexual harassment, abuse or misconduct, or other forms of harassment and bullying.

Athena Swan Charter
The Athena Swan Charter is a framework which is used across the globe to support and transform gender equality within higher education and research. Edge Hill University have been awarded the Athena SWAN Bronze award.
The University’s Equality, Diversity and inclusion Steering Group oversee the development of submissions and implementation of the action plan.

Fairtrade
At Edge Hill University, we aim to purchase Fairtrade products whenever possible.
Buying Fairtrade certified products is a great way to ensure that the producers have been paid a fair wage for their goods. We aim to encourage our staff and students to choose fairtrade products when possible to do so and we look to include information about Fairtrade at our sustainability events when relevant to do so.

North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC)
Edge Hill University are members of the North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC). NWUPC is a not for profit organisation owned by its full members consisting of 24 Universities within the North West Region. Their core business is to establish compliant framework agreements which their members access to buy goods and services. Their purpose is ‘to work in partnership with higher education institutions to collaboratively drive value through the responsible procurement of goods and services’.
They are one of eight UK Higher Education purchasing consortia working collaboratively under the UK Universities Purchasing Consortia (UKUPC) to deliver benefits and greater value to members.

Electronics Watch
Electronics Watch is a non-profit NGO that collaborates with civil society organisations and trade unions in production countries to monitor working conditions in mines and factories, and engages with industry to drive compliance and remedy. Its mission is to use public procurement leverage to promote and protect the rights of workers in global electronics supply chains.
NWUPC is an affiliate member of the Electronics Watch, on behalf of their members and themselves.
