Total Annual Fund: £500
Maximum Funding per Application: £100 as standard – however in exceptional circumstances additional funding can be applied for (subject to funding levels).
Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Payments are made via reimbursement upon receipt approval.
Previous Successful Awards
During the academic year 2025/26 we were pleased to be able to fund the following project(s) via the Student Sustainability Initiative Fund:
‘Stop the Block’ project
This project looks to reduce the number of blocked drains in halls of residence on the EHU Ormskirk campus using a variety of events, including running an interactive stall at the 2026/27 Freshers Fair.
Students have developed a range of different ways to promote this campaign and the project – which is linked to work undertaken by third year Business School students – was so well received that it was agreed that the students could apply for funding over the normal limit of the fund.
This project is also being tracked as part of an objective in EHUs Sustainability Delivery Plan Objectives document.

It is recommended that you save the application once you have completed it for your records. Please note that this funding is not intended to be spent on projects that contribute towards assessments such as a dissertation – any project that falls into this category cannot be funded.
