Beach

A beach? In Ormskirk? Right here on campus? You heard right. Located in Eastern Campus, right next to Chancellors Court halls, you’ll find our secret beach. Okay, so it isn’t comparable to Southport or Formby, but it’s perfect for a spot of sunbathing after a study session.

Off-campus accommodation finder

If you’re planning to rent in the future, or are currently renting privately in Ormskirk, our ‘renting privately’ webpage offers some useful tips to help you make the right choice.

Parking on campus

If you’re planning on driving to university, you can apply for your parking permit after enrolling.

And the best way to guarantee a parking space is to car share with someone else. This really helps when the car park gets busy as it often does during peak periods. Unless you’re car sharing, parking permits don’t always guarantee a space so we always recommend building in enough time to park off campus if necessary.

Quiz and Party Games society

Or if that’s not your cup of tea, what about the Dance Society? The Mature Students Society? Maybe the Queer Society?

  • The online SU Shop is your go to for all your university branded goods and clothing, including hoodies, lanyards and graduation merchandise. Physical pop-up shops will appear throughout the year, so check the SU social media for updates.

Plus, if you fancy a change of scenery, the University is located close to Ormskirk town centre where you can find plenty of other shops and amenities.

Sustainability

Like the Edge Hill ducks, when it comes to sustainability, there’s a lot going on beneath the surface of the Edge Hill campus.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. From using energy from renewable sources and  ensuring halls of residence have the most efficient insulation systems, to the development of “green” roofs and campus beehives, the University campus is buzzing with ideas promoting sustainable development. Also, we’re now a hedgehog-friendly campus

And we don’t intend to stop there. These are projects which are being constantly reviewed, recycled and upcycled.
