Arriving at Edge Hill

By car

We always recommend, wherever possible, that students use public transport. But, if you want to travel in using your car, you can apply for a parking permit after you’ve completed stage one of the online enrolment process. This is because, during stage one, you’ll receive your student number and you’ll need this to apply for a permit.

When you do apply, make sure you read the eligibility criteria first as you may not be successful in your application if you are able to walk to the University or can arrive by public transport. Take a look at the parking section on our website to find out more.

And don’t worry if you don’t receive your permit within the first few weeks of semester.  You can still park on campus as all new students are given an ample grace period which means you get a few weeks to apply for, and receive, your permit.

By public transport

You can find out more about arriving at Edge Hill by public transport, including directions for bus or rail travel on our travel webpage.

Our free Edge Link bus runs from Ormskirk town centre to the University. Please visit our Edge Link webpage to see the full timetable.
