Social life

You’ll always find something going on, no matter what day of the week. There’s some information on this page, but what’s on offer is constantly changing.

Check out our events, Arts Centre and Students’ Union pages for listings, and speak to our teams at an open day for the low down on what’s coming up.

Food and drink

Fancy a Starbucks, street food cooked to order or a vegan treat? Or give in to temptation at our regular market stalls with cakes, pies, crepes, fruit and veg.

We’ve got a great choice of hot meals too, including a varied menu of vegetarian and vegan dishes, and cater for a diverse range of dietary needs.

Other tasty options include freshly prepared sandwiches, paninis, wraps and baguettes, jacket potatoes with a choice of hot and cold fillings, and a selection of pizzas, soups and salads.

You can also grab something to eat in the Students’ Union’s on-campus Subway, or try a hot meal from Stone Willy’s Kitchen in the SU Bar.

If cooking for yourself is more your thing, there are facilities to heat up your own food at our Commuter Hub and a McColl’s store to buy meals and ingredients in The Hub.

We’ve provided some details of the food we’ve got on offer in our Food at Edge Hill pages.

Shopping

Our on-campus convenience store sells a variety of groceries, as well as newspapers, magazines, wines and spirits, greetings cards and confectionary. It is also home to the campus Post Office.

You will also find popular market stalls in the Hub on selected days of the week, selling everything from crafts, decorations and gifts to cakes, crepes and savoury pastries and fresh fruit and veg.

Nightlife

Get your friends together for a big night out at the SU’s Wednesday night SOCIAL, put your brains together for the Monday evening quiz night or grab the mic at our legendary Karaoke Fridays.

There’s the on-campus bar and nightclub, to catch up with friends and make new ones, and live sport shown on the large screen TVs.

Our Arts Centre boasts two theatres offering a year-round programme full of diverse and inspirational performances, including live music and comedy. If funds are a bit tight this month we’ve also got free film Fridays. Join the Free Film Fridays Facebook group to find out which films are coming up.
