Senior Lecturer in Mental Health
Paul Keenan is a European accredited Consultant in EMDR. He is an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist/Trainer and Supervisor with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists.
He is currently employed as a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health and is the programme leader for MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy at Edge Hill University.
Paul has been practising in EMDR since 1991 and has presented papers at many national and international conferences on the use of EMDR with Trauma, Peri-natal PTSD, Vicarious Trauma and Morbid Jealousy.
He has also published in peer reviewed journals on the aforementioned subjects, along with issues of stigma in mental health and sexual abuse by clergy.
As a member of the Humanitarian Assistance Programme (HAP), he has helped train clinicians in Turkey in 1999, following the earthquake and India in 2005, following the tsunami. He is also engaged in ongoing work with clinicians from Pakistan following the earthquake in 2005.
