The joint educational programme with Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has made a shortlist of three in the British Journal of Nursing Awards.
Nurses in the field treat problems of the female urinary system and the male genitourinary tract. They diagnose and treat disorders of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and male reproductive organs.
Award organisers say the title will go to work that “has achieved excellence or shown a flair for innovation and translated this into measurable improvements in patient care in urology.”
“This is great news and a source of real pride for everyone at Edge Hill.
“It’s testament to the hard work of everyone involved at the University who ensures we offer high quality post-graduate urology education for nurses and highlights our great partnership work with frontline urology clinicians.”
Clare Austin, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Health, Social Care and Medicine
The good news comes hot on the heels of Edge Hill staff and students being shortlisted in three categories for the Student Nursing Times Awards earlier this month – University Educator of the Year, Partnership of the Year and Most Inspirational Student Nurse of the Year.
The University is one of the largest providers of health, social care and medicine education in the North West of England and offer some the best facilities for health students in the country. Find out more about courses at Edge Hill University: edgehill.ac.uk/study
