Registration

What?

Registration on the day of the ceremonies will take place in the Sports Centre. It is vital that you register your attendance on the day so that Edge Hill staff are aware that you have arrived and can confirm your place in the seating plan.

It is not possible for a guest/friend to register on your behalf.

Tickets to enter the ceremony will be issued at registration.

When?

Registration points will open two hours prior to your ceremony and the queue will close one hour prior to the ceremony.
If you are not in the queue for registration at least one hour prior to your ceremony you will not be allowed to enter the theatre.

The Sports Centre.

Academic dress collection

What?

Marston Events staff will be available to provide you with your academic dress. Please ensure you put your robe on after it is presented to you for collection. Marston Events staff will be available to assist you with the hood and hat if required.

If you are bringing a guest in with you to the robing area, they can help you dress. It is vital that you collect your gown in good time for the ceremonies.

When?

Please collect your academic dress after you have registered.
Robes must be returned to the Sports Centre no later than one and a half hours after your ceremony.

The Sports Centre.

Photography

What?

Marston Events Photographers will be available to take your individual portrait and photographs of you and your guests.

Official photography will be available throughout all the graduation days in the Sports Centre – there is no need to book, just make sure you allow plenty of time to get to your ceremony in time.

Staff will be on hand to answer any queries.

Where?

The Sports Centre.

When?

Available from two hours prior to your ceremony. Don’t worry if you do not have time prior to the ceremony as the photographers will also be available until one hour after the last ceremony.

Registration queue closes

What?

The queue for registration will close. If you do not register, you will not be allowed to attend the ceremony.

Door to theatre open

What?

Graduands and guests may take their seats.

Where?

Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine, H1-H3 Theatres.

When?

The doors to the theatre open one hour before the ceremony.

Indoor guest live screening

What?

The ceremony will be shown in indoor screening areas.

If graduates requested screening room tickets during registration, e-tickets will be sent in advance. These tickets will indicate which screening room your guests have been allocated. Please make sure to forward the tickets to any guests attending the live screening.

Although the screening room is a less formal venue, guests are reminded to be respectful of others during the screening. Therefore we ask that guests remain seated in the theatre until all graduands have been presented so as not to disrupt the viewing experience of others.

When?

Doors to the screening rooms will open from 45 minutes before the ceremony. 

 

Doors to the theatre close

What?

Graduands and guests are asked to be seated in the theatre at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.

Please ensure you have visited the toilet before entering the theatre. Once the entrance doors are closed, you will not be permitted to exit until the ceremony finishes. Checks will be carried out to ensure you are sitting in the correct seat so that you are presented in the right order for the Reader to announce your name from their reading list.

Refreshments

What?

Complimentary refreshments will be available in the Hub. 

Catering outlets will also be open for card sales.

Where?

Please remember to bring your purple tokens for you and your two guaranteed guests. Tokens can be exchanged for a complimentary drink in the Hub.

Please feel free to enjoy the campus and sit on the front lawns, outside the Hub or your favourite place on campus.

When?

Immediately after the ceremony for one hour.

Photography

What?

If you didn’t manage to have your photograph taken earlier, you have another opportunity to visit the photography studios.

Where?

The Sports Centre.

When?

Marston Events Studios close one hour after the last ceremony ends.
