This process only applies to continuing undergraduate students who are studying programmes in:

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences
The Faculty of Health and Social Care and Medicine
Faculty of Education

Before you select your choices

Before selecting your optional modules make sure you have researched your choices and know what modules you wish to take. You should make your choice following any information or advice from your respective department. If you are unsure about any options please contact your department.

Once you have logged into the module choice portal

When you log into the module choices portal please check that your programme title is correct for the next academic year. If you intend to change your programme for 2024/25 you must contact your department to request a transfer form. If you have already submitted a transfer request please allow 48 hours for the new programme title to appear in the Module Choices Portal, if this change doesn’t appear after 48 hours please email [email protected]

When you are ready to select your module choices you will see on-screen instructions which you must read carefully to ensure you select the correct number of credits and module combination in accordance with your programme structure. The ‘type’ of module (optional or compulsory), the semester and credit value will be displayed. If you click on the module code you will find a brief module description and assessment details.

If you are on a programme which only has compulsory and no optional modules, this will be stated.

Once you have submitted your options, you can log back in to the portal and change your choices at any point until the deadline.

If you do not submit your choices by the deadline, your department will allocate optional modules to your record.

Important information

You can only take the same module again if you are required to in accordance with an Assessment Board outcome or if you are doing a repeat year of study.

Your enrolment on to the modules next year depends on progression being confirmed by the Assessment Board.

On occasion changing circumstances may necessitate alteration to, or the cancellation of, modules. In these circumstances you will be contacted and advised of alternative optional modules.
