Welcome to the Department of Geography and Geology at Edge Hill University. Whichever of our high quality courses you choose, teaching will combine laboratory and workshop practical activities, lectures and seminars, directed independent study, dissertation supervision, tutorials and fieldwork.
“Studying on the Geography programme at Edge Hill has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life. The skills and knowledge gained in the lectures are brought to life on fieldtrips in both the first and second years. Before visiting Mallorca I never realised how many diverse landscapes existed there.”Rod Crosby, BSc (Hons) Geography student
All of the department’s teaching takes place in our Geosciences building which has a central location in our impressive campus. Our team of friendly tutors are based in the department building and are on hand to offer one-to-one advice.View all facilities

Career enhancing opportunities – geography and geology
Geosciences are all about exploration and understanding the world, so fieldwork is a core component of all our courses. Fieldwork is a great learning experience, discovering the history beneath your feet. But it’s also an opportunity to get to know each other, and to learn to work as a team.
