Geography and Geology courses
The department has a long history of producing high quality and enjoyable courses, recognised by employers for the relevant skills and knowledge they provide students.
Teaching will combine laboratory and workshop practical activities, lectures and seminars, directed independent study, dissertation supervision, tutorials, and fieldwork. Our facilities include teaching and research laboratories for physical and human geography, information technology, remote sensing and geographical information systems.
Fieldwork takes place in all three years of our courses, depending on the degree programme that you are studying. Recent fieldwork destinations include Cumbria, Anglesey, Ullapool, Mallorca, Amsterdam, and the Scottish Outer Hebrides. We also visit the surrounding urban, coastal, and upland environments for our local fieldwork excursions.
