Department History, Geography and Social Sciences

Our department is a nexus of interdisciplinarity, essential to making sense of the complex sociological, political, and environmental challenges that face the world today.

Our programmes cover natural and social sciences, addressing critical global issues including climate change, biodiversity, food security, global politics, migration, conflict and power, crime and social justice. Our academic staff are actively researching and providing expert advice and analyses so that their work influences policy and practice.
