Life as a Faculty of Education student

Student voice

At the Faculty of Education, we understand that education is not just about books and teaching.

We are committed to the transformative role education can play in a person’s life, whether they are a primary school child or one of our postgraduate students. Once you join our Faculty family, we’ll be in regular dialogue about your experience and how we can support you towards fulfilling your ambitions.

And when we say dialogue, we really mean it. Through our cross-Faculty Big Question survey, focus groups in collaboration with the Students’ Union, or just a quiet conversation with your personal tutor, we believe that the best way to shape our students’ futures is to ensure they have a say in what their University journey looks like.

Browse this page to hear from past and present students, our amazing student ambassadors, placement opportunities and international experiences.

The course is not at all what I was expecting when I chose to study Religion. But in a good way. We look at religion through lots of different lenses, including sexuality, gender, feminism, family origins and disability, which I hadn’t even considered before.

I wanted to seek a degree that would not only satisfy my intellectual curiosity, but also provide me with the information and skill set necessary to pursue a more tailored career in education and mental health.
