The world is full of endless possibilities and discoveries waiting to be made. With Edge Hill, you have the chance to pursue your studies part-time and unlock your potential.

Where do you live and what inspired you to study at university?
I live in Burnley Lancashire. During my initial visit to Edge Hill University, I was captivated by the breathtaking campus environment. The atmosphere, facilities, and over all inclusivity of the environment truly impressed me and convinced me that this was the right place.

Are you the first in your family to undertake a degree?
Yes

What was it about Edge Hill that made it stand out?
I was particularly drawn to Edge Hill University because it offered a part-time BA Hons degree with QTS, which was the only university to do so near me. This was perfect for me as a mature student with a full-time job and a young family, as it allowed me the invaluable opportunity to study part-time while managing my other responsibilities.

What’s your favourite thing about your degree?
One aspect of this degree that I particularly enjoy is the chance to hear and learn from experienced primary educators. Their stories and insights provide valuable knowledge that enables me to create a fun and engaging learning environment.

How have your lecturers helped you during your degree?
Lectures support and listen to you, emails are answered quickly. Communication is key when you are studying a part time course and are not on campus every week.

How has the degree supported you in balancing studying and working in school?
It can be quiet challenging, but being organised is key. The most important aspect is to always seek assistance when needed.

How has your subject knowledge improved over the course of your degree?
By actively engaging in practical lessons at university and applying what I learnt in the classroom, my understanding of the subject has significantly enhanced throughout my degree.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?
In the future, I aspire to become a Key Stage 2 primary school teacher and eventually take on a senior leadership role. I am particularly passionate about working with children who have special educational needs and/or promoting the significance of integrating physical education into our daily routine.

What advice would you give to someone considering studying an Edge Hill degree?
Read, read, read. Be organised, ask for help, and Good Luck!
