The early years of education is a fun, creative place where you can see the difference you are making to children’s lives.

I will be starting a role in September as a Primary School Teacher at the British School of Kuwait. My job will involve teaching a range of international children in an English school in Kuwait, following the national curriculum in order to support their learning and development.

My favourite thing about Edge Hill is the knowledge and experience passed on from lecturers.

My degree at Edge Hill has prepared me for my career through excellent placements. I have gained experience and developed my skills in order to become a great teacher.

The most memorable moments of my degree are the placements, building relationships with different people and then completing placements knowing you have supported a group of children with their learning and development.

The top three skills I have gained from my degree are patience, determination and believing in myself.

My inspiration to pursue my career and this new job was because I wanted to build relationships with people, I wanted to help people and I wanted a job where I could travel. Teaching ticks those boxes and gives me fulfilment to know I am doing something that is supporting others.

I hope to do International teaching for a few years and explore the world. Then come back to England and teach here, hopefully in the long run move towards senior leadership in primary schools.
