The Student Accommodation Code
Edge Hill University has signed up to the Student Accommodation Code which protects your rights to a safe and good quality place to live. It includes your rights to the following key areas:
a healthy, safe environment
timely repairs and maintenance
a clean, pleasant living environment
a formal, contractual relationship with your landlord (the University in this case)
access to health and wellbeing services
a living environment free from anti-social behaviour
If you are living on campus or you are interested in living on campus, you can view a copy of our current halls licence agreement online. If you need a copy of your licence agreement, please email fm–[email protected] stating your student ID number in your request.
While you are on your course at Edge Hill University, you have agreed to the Student Regulations, which incorporates the Student Code of Behaviour. This is applicable to all students whether you live on campus or in the private sector off campus.
Guests are allowed to stay in your halls of residence, however, you must adhere to the following policy: You must complete an Overnight Guest Request Form at least three days before your guest is due to stay with you. This form should be completed each time you are planning for a visitor to stay in your on-campus accommodation with you, including if they already reside in another part of campus. The guest must be aged 18 or over. You are only allowed 1 guest in your room overnight at any one time. The guest cannot stay for longer than 2 consecutive nights. There is no limit on the number of times a guest can stay within a month, as long as they do not stay on campus as your guest, for longer than two consecutive nights and there is a 5 day break in between. They cannot be in your residence if you are not with them. You are responsible for the behaviour of your guest – if they breach the Student Disciplinary Regulations, you may be sanctioned for their actions.

Providing a safe environment for our students, staff and wider community is a primary concern of the University. In order to achieve our goal of ensuring you are protected and properly supported should an emergency occur, we need you to take responsibility for familiarising yourself with our emergency procedure.
An emergency on campus is any accidental or deliberate incident that could threaten the safety of the University’s community, property or environment. In the event of an emergency including the need for urgent first aid, a fire, an accident or a crime, you should immediately contact Campus Support.
We would encourage safe exchanges for all items by reading their respective tips for transactions.
