Part 1: Strategies for growth and innovation
This highlights your business’s current activities and outlines your aspirations for its future direction. It involves examining your strengths and key competencies, identifying opportunities, and evaluating both existing and emerging markets. Additionally, it considers how embracing innovation, adopting digital technologies, and entering new markets can serve as powerful engines for boosting productivity and driving growth.
Part one is delivered over three sessions:

This section centers on the purpose behind your business, how you engage with your customers, and how clearly your brand communicates your values and mission. It explores strategies for generating demand, segmenting your audience, and implementing a focused, strategic marketing approach.

Part 3: Building a sustainable and agile busines
You will look at establishing the right organisational structure to achieve your objectives and applying effective leadership and management practices. It involves guiding teams through change, promoting staff wellbeing, investing in people development, and adopting agile working methods to enhance flexibility and performance.

To complete the course, you will examine the internal processes that drive your business outputs, how you track performance, and how data informs your decisions. It covers taking a strategic approach to operations and financial management, exploring funding options for growth, and aligning all elements through the execution of your Growth Action Plan.

Your business
Your organisation must be classed as a small or medium-sized business (SME) based in the United Kingdom, that employs between 5 and 249 people. You must have been operational for at least one year, and you cannot be a charity.
Your role
You must be a senior decision maker, such as a Chief Executive, Finance Director or Operations Director.
You must have at least one direct report.
Your commitment
You need to commit to completing all sessions. You need to complete 9 out of 12 sessions to pass the course. Be ready to invest in yourself and boost the future of your business.

How much does the Help to Grow: Management course cost?
The 12-week Help to Grow: Management Course delivers over 50 hours of structured learning plus personalised one-to-one mentoring.
Valued at £7,500, the programme is 90% government-funded, so small businesses invest just £750 per participant. This is payable directly to Edge Hill University upon registration.
