Meet the Behavioural Data Service Team
The team have a strong background in academic research. With specialisms ranging from health psychology to neuroscience, their expertise can support your R&D and impact the next step of your success.

I specialise in Cognitive Science, focusing on how humans learn, process, and understand language. With expertise in handling complex human behaviour data, I create tailored strategies to uncover valuable insights.
Every dataset is unique, and my approach ensures efficient, clear solutions that drive informed decision-making. My experience in overcoming challenging data problems allows me to seamlessly integrate customised workflows to meet your organization’s specific goals. By leveraging my expertise, your team can gain deeper insights to support R&D efforts, improve communication strategies, and deliver impactful results for both internal and client-facing initiatives.

I am a mixed-methods researcher specialising in substance use and mental health, combining large datasets with qualitative methods like interviews and focus groups. My work explores the relationship between alcohol and mental health and evaluates how health systems support individuals with co-occurring conditions, emphasising patient and public involvement and stakeholder engagement.
My expertise with population-level datasets can help identify trends and prevalence within your data, while my qualitative research experience offers insights into key issues impacting your organisation. I can help you understand the complexities of these challenges and develop strategies informed by stakeholder perspectives.

I am a cognitive psychologist with a focus upon sleep research. I have previously looked at how sleep can affect cognitive functioning, such as memory, visual processing, and learning. I also have experience looking at social media use in preadolescents.
With my extensive experience in research methods, I can guide you in designing a research process that is robust, efficient, and tailored to meet your specific objectives. I will help you identify and implement the most effective methodologies and support you in building this for online data collection and supporting analysis and interpretation.

My main expertise is in the field of perception, including vision, pain, time and the perception of fonts. I frequently combine behavioural tasks with recordings of physiological measures (e.g., ECG).
My expertise in research methods can assist you in designing effective studies and gathering the data needed to address your specific questions. Additionally, my skills in data analysis and visualisation can help you interpret the data you already have, providing valuable insights and actionable conclusions.

As a Chartered Coaching Psychologist, I’m especially interested in how professionals self-manage. This includes career planning; organising day-to-day tasks; and self-management of energy, stress, and burnout.
My knowledge of personal and professional values, goal setting, and self-management can help your organisation meet various challenges to do with workplace culture and motivation. Psychological measurement can be applied even more widely, to help provide insights into everything from employee stress to customer engagement.

I am a Registered Health Psychologist with a very long career to date helping us to understand how and why people react the way they do to illness, and how they make sense of their health. I work across a broad range of mental and physical health conditions, collecting, processing and analysing relevant health data.
I can talk you through key insights in understanding data you already have, or help you to maximise the value of research you intend to conduct in your organisation. As a practitioner and a researcher, I bring together the technical aspects of research with the grass-roots appreciation of what people think and feel.

I am a cognitive neuroscientist by background and completed my PhD in biomedical sciences. My research investigates the changes occurring in the central nervous system in response to spinal and brain injury and how to use non-invasive stimulation for neurorehabilitation after injury.
I am experienced in protocol design, ethical approval and successful completion of clinical studies involving NHS organisations. I can advise you on Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approval for studies involving clinical investigation devices.

I specialise in the neuroscience of communication. My research examines how we speak, sing, and express emotions to understand each other’s minds.
People are trying to tell you something through their data and I can help you understand them. This could include understanding what kind of information can be gleaned from data that you already hold, organising complex data so that you can get the most use out of it, or constructing data visualisations and dashboards to communicate business insights.

I specialise in educational psychology, with a particular focus on school practices and provision for children and young people with special educational needs.
I can provide advice on suitable analytical approaches and how to interpret your findings. If your work requires psychometrics, I can advise on how to interpret performance against norms. I can also help you to think about how best to communicate your findings to be accessible to key stakeholders.

I’m a Chartered Coaching Psychologist, with an interest in how people can live improved lives. I have extensive experience of evaluation work in the criminal justice settings (e.g., Prison and community orders), and have previously made use of large data sets to explore the relationship between specific variables (e.g., victimisation, demographics such as sexual orientation, and well-being).
I can help with setting up data monitoring, and improve data quality, so that an evaluation can be undertaken at a later stage. In cases where data already exists, I can provide analysis and interpretation to answer key questions.

I have expertise are in the field of social and cognitive neuroscience. I do research using functional and structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging and experimental tasks to understand the cognitive and neural underpinnings of social communication and behaviour in healthy and patient populations. This may, for instance, include social language such as pragmatics, or visual information coming from the social world around us.
My insights into cognitive and visual processing can help you understand how information from our social and sensory world might affect behaviour and interaction with others in different patient groups, including those from a neurodiverse population.

I am a biological psychologist specialising in substance use and dietary supplementation. Although not a clinician, I have also co-authored research on some aspects of clinical psychology assessment, and have worked as a statistical consultant in the NHS on areas of orthopaedic medicine. I am bilingual in English and French.
I can advise about analytic strategies to pursue, either at the outset of data collection or once a data set exists. I can work with you to perform and report data analyses.
