Module choices 2026/27
Find out about your module choices for the next academic year, 2026/27.
You must submit your module choices by midnight on Friday 27 March 2026. There are remaining.
The YouTube video states that if you select a credit imbalance you must complete a credit imbalance form with your department. This is no longer required. If you wish to study with a credit imbalance, you should still discuss this with your department. By submitting your choices through the portal, you are confirming that you understand and accept the imbalance and that you have discussed it with your department. If you have questions about module content or your credit balance, please contact your department before submitting your choices.
This process only applies to continuing undergraduate students who are studying programmes in:
Before you select your choices
Before making your optional module selections, take a little time to look through the options available and consider which modules you would like to take. Make sure your choices follow any guidance provided by your department. In the Module Choice portal you can view the module description and further details by clicking on the module code. Before making your selections, open the ‘Click to view Course Specific Instructions’ tab and read the information provided there. If you are unsure about any of the options, contact your department for advice before submitting your choices.
Selecting your modules
When you log in, first check that your programme title for the next academic year is correct.
If you intend to transfer programme for 2026/27, you must contact the relevant department to discuss this and confirm it is possible before completing a programme transfer form. The form is available by emailing [email protected]. If you have already submitted a transfer request, please allow up to 48 hours for your new programme title to appear in the portal. If it has not updated after this time, email [email protected].
When you are ready to select your modules, follow the on-screen instructions carefully. These will guide you on the number of credits and module combinations required for your programme.
For each module you will see:
- whether it is compulsory or optional
- the semester it runs in
- the credit value
Click on the module code to view a short description and assessment information.
If your programme only includes compulsory modules and no optional choices, this will be shown in the portal.
Changing your modules
After submitting your choices, you can log back into the portal and change them at any time until the deadline.
For module changes after 27th March 2026, please complete a change of module form here: https://www.edgehill.ac.uk/departments/support/registry/academic-records/modules/
The deadlines for module changes for the 2026/27 academic year are:
Semester 1 and Semester 1.2 modules: 16 October 2026
Semester 2 modules: 12 February 2027
Important information
It is your responsibility to make sure you register for the correct number of modules and credits each year. You cannot take a module you have already completed, as credits cannot be awarded twice for the same module. The only exception is where you are required to repeat a module following an Assessment Board decision or as part of a repeat year of study.
Where possible, your credits should be balanced across the academic year (for example 60 credits in Semester 1 and 60 credits in Semester 2). An imbalance may result in a heavier workload in one semester.
If you have concerns about credit balance or module content, contact your department for advice. If you choose a credit imbalance when other options are available, this will be taken as confirmation that you understand and accept the workload implications.
If you do not submit your choices by the deadline, your department will allocate optional modules on your behalf.
Your enrolment on next year’s modules is subject to progression being confirmed by the Assessment Board.
While every effort is made to ensure module information is accurate, programmes and modules are reviewed regularly. Occasionally this may result in changes or cancellations. If this happens, you will be contacted and offered alternative module options.
