OFG Limited case study

David Marsh, Sales Director – OFG Limited

“The Innovation Sprint Programme provided us with the time and framework to clarify who we are, what we are good at and who we should take our services to. I would recommend the programme to anybody who is in business.”

David Marsh, Sales Director – OFG Limited

OFG Ltd completed the programme and have developed and introduced a brand new service, launched: Business Arena Ltd.

  • A five part model which includes exploring new markets, identifying and maximising mergers and investment, and augments their exit strategy.
  • Acquired four new long-term clients.
  • Employed a Financial Director to strengthen their portfolio of expertise.
  • Developed a market outreach programme of webinars to aid new client acquisition.

Starting point

OFG have a wealth of international experience working at an executive level in a range of industry sectors, acting as an “Alternative Board” for its clients. They offer a range of support including membership to access informative materials and training, through to a deep-dive audit identifying and resolving the issues which inhibit growth.

The opportunity

OFG had seen itself deviate from its original strategy and vision over the past 12 months, responding to a short-term spike in market demand for data protection (GDPR) consultancy support, which had moved it from its core mission and primary areas of significant expertise.

OFG joined the Innovation Sprint Programme with the aim of re-focusing their business direction based on developing a deeper understanding of their customer base.

The journey

OFG needed to clarify their original strategy. During the workshops OFG were able to reflect upon and scrutinise relevant data, information and insights about the business in order to shape their solution.

The intensive, facilitated workshops, allowed OFG to unlock exactly where their customer’s real pain points lay and what quantifiable benefits their services needed to offer.

Solution and outcomes

The solution was to develop a new service, with activities which specifically tackle key factors which inhibit SME growth. OFG also designed the service to include a feature to support SME leadership teams to derive maximum value from their exit strategy.

This new service is now registered as Business Arena Ltd.

Growing businesses can now connect with Business Arena’s new five-part model which includes exploring new markets, identifying and maximising mergers and investments, and augmenting their exit strategy.

Following the introduction of Business Arena Ltd, OFG have acquired four new long-term clients, employed a Financial Director to strengthen their portfolio of expertise, and developed a market outreach programme of webinars to aid new client acquisition.

OFG have also adopted the University’s Innovation Sprint Programme framework as a fundamental process in their business, with the aim of repeating this in-house biannually to review their market position.

The programme has really helped the business to redefine who they are and is the beginning of a long-term relationship with Edge Hill University.
