International Opportunities for FoE students

Eligibility: This opportunity is open to current year 2 BA (Hons) Primary Education students.

Places available: Up to 12 places 

Summary of the opportunity: This international “pilot” opportunity focuses on schooling in Kuwait. You will spend the majority of your time in The British School of Kuwait. You will have the opportunity to further your studies in PED2028 / PED3020 and will explore this through focussed conversations with school colleagues including subject leaders and observations / engagement in classroom sessions.  You will also focus on school / parent communication and understand challenges and similarities to UK school settings. You will also have the opportunity to visit local cultural attractions and spend time talking to staff in the school about living and working in Kuwait.

Eligibility: This opportunity is open to all current year 1 and year 2 Primary and Early Years students in the Faculty of Education. 

Places available: Up to 20 places

Summary of the opportunity: This international opportunity includes time spent in the University classroom studying alongside Primary or Early Years students studying to be teachers. You will have some options in the sessions you attend, and these will prove to be valuable CPD and will extend your studies at Edge Hill. You will also be allocated a buddy from BW who you will attend classes with and who you will also travel with to attend, weekly, sessions in the field. This fieldwork will be in a School or Early Years setting appropriate to your degree and areas of interest. In addition you will also be involved in co delivering sessions on Learning Outside the Classroom using the spaces around Lake Erie. This is an area of Education where students at Baldwin Wallace will learn from you. In addition you will spend time engaged in cultural activities in the surrounding area and will be on campus to engage with all the festivities around home coming.

Places available: Up to 10 places

Summary of the opportunity: This international opportunity focuses on schooling in Kuwait. You will spend the majority of your time in The British School of Kuwait or the Sunshine Kindergarten. You will have the opportunity to tailor part of your experience around your subject interests alongside gaining substantial experience in the classroom and working alongside teachers and leaders in the school. You will also have the opportunity to visit local cultural attractions and spend time talking to staff in the school about living and working in Kuwait.

Eligibility: This opportunity is open to all current year 1 and year 2 students in the Faculty of Education. 

Places available: Up to 4 places

Summary of the opportunity: This international opportunity focuses on schooling in Kuwait. You will spend the first two weeks on the same programme as the 10-day students who will travel at the same time as you.  You will identify links to your current studies and your career aspirations and be a key driver in the shape of your programme. This will be discussed with you during your interview and in the sessions in the run up to your departure.
