Course outline
Sessions combine practical dance activity with viewing and discussion, helping you to develop your understanding of flamenco as both an art form and a powerful form of cultural exchange.
The course is delivered in English, with opportunities to develop your Spanish language skills throughout. Whether you are a complete beginner in Spanish or already have more advanced language skills, the course will meet you at your level. Beginners can develop their Spanish in a fun, active and supportive environment, while more advanced speakers can stretch their skills through instruction, feedback and interaction in Spanish.
Whether you are completely new to flamenco or looking to develop your existing experience, all levels of dance experience are welcome. Each session begins with a gentle warm-up, creating a safe, enriching and enjoyable environment in which to learn, move and connect with others. Participants are encouraged to wear loose fitting active wear. Participants should also wear a flat shoe/low heel that is strong and supportive, and that they will be comfortable and safe to move in.
