Edge Hill University boasts a stunning 160-acre campus, home to a wide range of beautiful plants and wildlife. When you are on campus, expect to see squirrels, rabbits, ducks, and even our campus cat.

In 2025, we have been presented with the Green Flag award for the 14th year, marking over a decade as one of the country’s best green spaces.

Our Facilities Management Team work hard to keep the grounds to the highest standards, providing a beautiful space for students, staff and the public to unwind.

  • Enhancing biodiversity across campus

We are dedicated to making the environment better for all and are working towards our ambitious goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

Green space and improved wellbeing

Taking a walk around campus and studying in one of Edge Hill’s natural spots can help to improve your wellbeing. Spending time in green space can:

  • lift your mood
  • reduce negatives feelings such as stress, anger, and loneliness
  • help you to relax and recharge
  • help you to feel grounded
  • improve your physical health
  • motivate you to become more active
  • introduce you to other students
  • connect you to the Edge Hill community
