Psychology courses
Edge Hill offers a variety of outstanding opportunities for studying psychology at university.

We offer a range of very popular undergraduate degree programmes, all of which are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). We offer BPS accredited postgraduate taught courses. Two of these are Stage 1 training aligned to BPS practitioner pathways. Our MSc Health Psychology and MSc Coaching Psychology course are the Stage 1 training for those wishing to become practitioner psychologists in these respective areas. Our MSc Conversion course allows graduates in disciplines other than psychology with the opportunity to obtain Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS). This can therefore be a passport to pursue psychological practitioner training.
Students who study at Edge Hill will benefit from expert-led support. All academic members are staff are research-active and so subjects are taught from academics who are specialists in their fields. We also have registered psychology practitioners in domains such as Sport and Exercise Psychology, Health Psychology, and Coaching Psychology which means we can provide an enriched and applied focused across our curriculum. The fact that we have members of our psychology team who are at forefront of national and international research and practice in a number of key areas of psychology, has allowed us to develop such a rich portfolio of undergraduate degrees.
Our Department of Psychology occupies a modern, purpose-built building with high quality teaching and research facilities. Our students are encouraged to use these research facilities for their final year dissertation projects. Our students are of the upmost importance to us. We focus on providing undergraduates with an experience that will afford them the skills necessary for the future and their careers beyond academia. The work students conduct during their dissertation projects, or as part of our Psychology Department Research Internship scheme can also lead to some of that work being published in Psychology Journal articles.
