The Student Life team is a mix of staff and students, including our large team of Campus Connectors.

Our Campus Connectors are an excellent source of guidance as you start your university journey. From questions about accommodation, to recommendations on what to do in your free time and how to make friends, they’re here to help you settle into life at Edge Hill.

They’ll also be around to help you move into your new home if you choose to live on campus, helping us to offer you the best moving in experience (Global Student Living Awards 2024).

Our brand new Students’ Union

We’ve invested £8.4m in your new Students’ Union (SU) building. Gather your friends for a fun night out at the Union bar.

Put your brains together for a quiz, watch the big match or head down to one of our legendary karaoke nights. With so much to do, a night out at the SU is guaranteed to be entertaining.

Join a club or society

Clubs and societies give you the chance to meet new people, learn a new skill or develop an interest you already have. The Students’ Union manages almost 100 diverse and dynamic societies adding an element of fun to student-led activities on campus.

Societies cover everything from book clubs to maintaining an eco-garden, to all things gaming, Marvel and Harry Potter, as well as active pursuits such as climbing and mountaineering. You’re sure to find something to inspire you and make friends along the way.

Improve your skills

Want some help with your revision? Wondering how Harvard referencing works? Our UniSkills workshops are designed to address these questions and more. In these helpful sessions you’ll develop your academic writing skills, master exam preparation, learn how to manage dissertation writing, and how to deliver an engaging presentation.

We’ve also designed a suite of TechSkills workshops, where you can develop specific skills in technology. Learn how to design creative materials, build a blog, or set up a basic website – all skills that will be useful in your university journey and beyond.

Building your career

Take the opportunity to spend time in your industry of interest and gain first-hand knowledge of the world of work with a sandwich year placement. Develop transferable skills, learn from experienced professionals and gain practical work experience.

While UK universities can charge fees for sandwich years, we waive these charges to encourage and support students who wish to take up these valuable opportunities.

Our Careers Team are on hand to offer support and guidance with these types of work experience and in your journey to your future career. They can also help to advise about applying for financial support towards career enhancing opportunities with our Student Opportunity Fund.
