Postgraduate Sociology and Social Sciences

Discover how discourses of autism shape autistic people’s lived experiences on our MA programme.

You’ll have opportunities to gain practical experience and enhance your employability through work-based learning, and enjoy an international field trip. We also offer a PGCert Social Sciences (Critical Autism Studies), if you’re looking for a shorter course.

If you want to focus on a particular aspect of social sciences, our MRes Masters by Research or PhD Doctor of Philosophy provide opportunities to do so. Our students have explored a wide range of topics, from the role of social media in the construction of intimacy in the beauty industry, to LGBTQ representations in fiction.
