Law

Our LLM International Cyber Regulation & Policy immerses you in the policies, regulation and policing of cyberspace and telecommunications. You will develop legal research skills, acquire expert knowledge of cyber law and regulatory telecommunications frameworks, and gain revealing insights into issues surrounding law enforcement and the protection of rights in cyberspace.

An optional work placement provides the opportunity for you to spend up to sixty hours in an appropriate legal practice or in a relevant role within an IT or telecommunications company, enhancing your employability with experience of regulatory enforcement in a real-world setting.

The programme is ideal for law graduates, graduates from related subjects such as social sciences, and those who are already working in the telecommunications or cyberspace industries. If you are seeking a future career either as part of a cybercrime unit or in a legal compliance role within IT companies or national telecommunications regulatory bodies, this is the programme for you. If you are qualified to practice law, you could also pursue a career in independent legal practice with specialist knowledge of the infringement of rights matters.

Alternatively, you can interrogate a variety of aspects of law, criminology and cyber regulation in depth on our MRes Masters by Research or PhD Doctor of Philosophy.

Facilities

The £6m Law and Psychology building provides contemporary teaching and learning facilities for students in the School of Law, Criminology and Policing.

The three-storey building includes a 250-seat lecture theatre, seminar and tutorial rooms, and social learning areas which encourage a more informal and interactive style of learning.

Elsewhere on campus, there is a mooting room (a mock courtroom) and the EHU Police Training and Simulation Facility, part of which is furbished as a police station, which simulates a wide range of crime scenes.
