“I am thankful that Edge Hill University, and the people within it, have given me the confidence to change my life."
It has been particularly rewarding for me as I have now obtained my first teaching post at a school where I did my second year placement, making all of the hard work and commitment to my studies worth every minute.
At the moment I'm spending a lot of time in schools, trying to gain as much experience as I can.
The sessions we did on interviewing were invaluable, and I'd have done horribly in my job interview without them.
I had wanted to be a teacher since I was little and thought I had missed the opportunity, but this course has given me the tools I need.
Not only do you study the subject itself, you also learn how to teach and gain a wide range of experience out on placement.
My brother and sister went to university in Liverpool and Manchester respectively and wish that they had come here instead.
I really enjoyed being able to creatively engage with the pupils. It was definitely a very valuable as well as personally rewarding experience.
For me, the best thing about the course is being able to study with people who are as passionate about education as you are.
Throughout the course you undertake numerous school-based placements which are fantastic and enable you to develop as a person as well as a practitioner.
I am only here two days a week and when I am away I miss it. It is such a good course.
On this course religion becomes a reality rather than something in a book.
This course has equipped me with the essential knowledge and experience I require to become a creative and dedicated teacher.
The opportunity to go out on placements has been my favourite part of the course and really fired my enthusiasm.
The feeling you get when you observe a child achieving their goals and showing enthusiasm to succeed is the best feeling of all and is something I am looking forward to experiencing regularly over the coming years.
I know that both the practical and religious sides of this course will help me in my aim of becoming an inspirational teacher.
