Staff and students at Edge Hill University have been shortlisted for five prestigious Student Nursing Times Awards.

Eleanor Fenney, senior lecturer and nurse paramedic programme lead, has been shortlisted in the Educator of the Year category, Andrea Lewington-Hill is in the running for Student Nurse of the Year and Sean Domingo has been shortlisted for his Outstanding Contribution to Student Affairs.

The University has also been recognised in the Partnership of the Year category for two separate projects – for its work with the Cheshire and Merseyside Annexe Collaborative, with Edge Hill represented by Richard Williams, practice lead for nursing, and its partnership with a leading college of nursing in India, led by Dr Toni Bewley, senior teaching fellow at the Ormskirk university.

Clare Austin, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Health, Social Care and Medicine, said:

“To be shortlisted for even one category in the Student Nursing Times Awards is an honour so to be recognised in five is a phenomenal achievement.

“I am so proud of Eleanor, Andrea and Sean, and the teams involved with the two partnership schemes. Their hard work and dedication is a credit to the whole university and the wider nursing community.”

The Student Nursing Times Awards provide the opportunity to congratulate lecturers, practice supervisors, universities, trusts and private organisations which are going above and beyond to support student nurses.

Edge Hill University’s Faculty of Health, Social Care & Medicine is one of the largest providers of health, social care and medicine education in the North West of England and home to its Medical School.

The Faculty delivers a wide range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels delivered across the main Ormskirk campus and bases at Aintree University Hospital, St James’ Manchester and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
