English Requirements for Egyptian students

To study with us, you’ll need to show that you meet our English language requirements. For students from Egypt, this means taking one of the recognised English language tests.

We accept a range of tests, and each has its own minimum score depending on the level of study you’re applying for. You’ll need to achieve the required grades to be eligible for entry.

Foundation entry requirements for Egyptian students

To be considered for a foundation programme at Edge Hill University, you must hold one of the following::

  • Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama with an overall grade 60% or above and a minimum of pass in each subject taken.
  • SABIS with a minimum of Grade C overall, (Grade C in any A level subject specific requirements and pass Maths)
  • Private school qualifications (High School Diploma of Secondary Education / American Diploma) – minimum GPA of 2.7 and pass in Maths.

Undergraduate entry requirements for Egyptian students

To be considered for an undergraduate course at Edge Hill University, you must hold one of the following:

  •  Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama with an overall grade of 60% or above and a minimum of pass in each subject taken or the Technical Secondary School Certificate plus a recognised UK International Foundation Programme
  • Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama with an overall grade of 60% or above and a minimum of pass in each subject taken or the Technical Secondary School Certificate plus 2-year Diploma from an Intermediate/Higher Institute with an overall average of 65% or higher

Postgraduate Taught programmes

To be considered for a taught postgraduate course at Edge Hill University with a 2:2 entry requirement, you must have completed:

Bachelor’s degree with one of the following grades:

  • “Good”
  • 65%
  • GPA 2.7/4.0
  • Minimum 60% / GPA 2.5/4.0 plus 2 years’ relevant work experience
  • Grades from 0.7 (A+) to 3.3 (C-) if awarded by the German University in Cairo (GUC)
  • Minimum GPA 2.4/4.0 if awarded by AASTMT
