About us
The EHU Musculoskeletal (MSK) Research Group is a multi-disciplinary team with researchers from orthopaedic surgery, physiotherapy, nursing, sports science, pharmacy, digital science, nutrition and community services. Our aim is to reduce the burden of musculoskeletal disease through challenges to strategies for education, prevention, mitigation and intervention.
Our research is focuses on the impact of frailty in MSK pathology, and particularly on identification of high-risk groups and prevention. The group has expertise in consensus surveys, biomechanical laboratory studies, qualitative research, service evaluations, big-data studies, commercial trials and multi-centre clinical trials. We have a particular interest in low-volume interventions and underserved populations.
The MSK group includes researchers at all stages of development and from many disciplines within the healthcare and research sector. We are passionate about nurturing researchers in the early stage of their research careers, to enable them to develop their interests to achieve impact and satisfaction in their work.
