We are delighted to offer a bespoke and unique international opportunity for Faculty of Education students.

Please note that all the below opportunities are subject to funding.

British School of Kuwait (BSK), Kuwait<br>Exact date TBC September 2026 (up to 10 days opportunity)

Summary of the opportunity: This international opportunity focuses on schooling in Kuwait. You will spend the majority of your time in The British School of Kuwait or the Sunshine Kindergarten. You will have the opportunity to tailor part of your experience around your subject interests alongside gaining substantial experience in the classroom and working alongside teachers and leaders in the school. You will also have the opportunity to visit local cultural attractions and spend time talking to staff in the school about living and working in Kuwait.

Eligibility: This opportunity is open to all current year 2 undergraduate students in the Faculty of Education only.

Places available: Up to 10 places available (subject on funding).

Attendance and attainment on your university programme will be considered alongside your application when determining who will progress to interview.
Applicants will need a valid passport with an expiry date of at least six months after the date of arrival (likely to be early to mid-September 2026).
If applicants have an Israeli stamp in their passport, they may be refused entry into Kuwait.
International students at Edge Hill with a restricted visa to study in the UK will not be able to apply
Applicants with non-UK passports will need to get in touch with Jack Williams ([email protected]) to assess if they will be able to undertake this opportunity based on Kuwaiti entry requirements.

Interviews: 13 April – 24 April 2026
Successful Applicants will be informed week commencing 28 April 2026
We will aim to book flights and inform BSK who will be attending by mid-May 2026.

To note

If successful for this opportunity, and prior to the opportunity taking place, applicants will need to apply for an eVisa online via the Kuwaiti government website at the following link; https://kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw/

Visa

If successful for this opportunity, applicants will need to provide; their personal and travel details, upload a picture of their passport, and pay a small fee of approximately £8 for processing of the visa. Applicants will need to pay this fee up front but can then claim this back from the university.

Costs

Over the course of this experience, the University will be providing a supplementary stipend to help contribute to living costs during this experience. Accommodation, flights, travel insurance and certain travel costs will also be covered by the University and BSK.

Beyond this, any additional costs you may incur during the course of this experience will have to be self-funded. Examples of these costs include; day-to-day spending beyond the stipend, activity costs, souvenirs, additional luggage etc. With this in mind, it is recommended that you research the cost of living in Kuwait prior to applying to see if this experience would be viable for you.
