Informal Talks for Prospective Nursing Students (Ormskirk)
Informal talks for prospective nursing students take place on selected Wednesdays throughout the year at the Ormskirk Campus. The date of the next event is:
Whether you wish to specialise in adult nursing, children's nursing, mental health or learning disabilities, or you're unsure of your preferred route, the talks are a great opportunity to find out more about our pre-registration nursing courses that could enable you to work as a nurse in a variety of settings and be eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Each talk will include a presentation followed by an informal question and answer session. You'll also have the chance to see the stunning Ormskirk Campus and tour the £14 million Faculty of Health and Social Care building.
Housing some of the best facilities for health undergraduates in the country, the faculty's state-of-the-art learning resources are second to none, with leading edge clinical skills facilities including ward simulations with industry standard equipment.

The talks are a great opportunity to find out more about our pre-registration midwifery degree that enables students to develop into competent and accountable midwives, with professional, leadership, management and project skills, eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Operating Department Practice Open Afternoon (Manchester)
If you would like to work in an operating theatre as part of a professional team at a local hospital and are looking for a dynamic and rewarding career in healthcare, you can find out more about our BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice degree by attending our drop-in afternoon at Armstrong House in Manchester on Thursday 7th June 2012, 2pm-6pm.
Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) are important members of the perioperative team, providing high standards of care during the anaesthetic, surgical and recovery phases of a patients' treatment in hospital.
As the sole provider of ODP training in the North West of England, the BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice programme at Edge Hill University has had a 100% employment rate for completing students. This programme is NHS-funded and students receive a means-tested NHS Bursary. Clinical placements are available throughout Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
