We combine practice opportunities with collaborative learning informed by service users, carers, and their families. The short and intensive research experience centres on independent study, which is underpinned by the development of research knowledge and skills. 

What you can expect

Delivered alongside our partners in the Cheshire & Merseyside Social Work Teaching Partnership, practice learning is a key feature of the student experience. 170 days will be spent on placement, supported by 30 days of assessed social work practice skills across the two-year course. 

Upon successful completion, you will gain eligibility to apply for registration with Social Work England as a qualified social worker. 

What you can expect

The opportunity to focus on mental health awareness is a key feature of our Sport postgraduate courses. You can enhance your understanding of the real-world applications of biomechanics, physiology and psychology. We also offer qualified sports therapists the opportunity to gain further practice experience and specialist expertise. 

Alternatively, you can explore a specific aspect of sport and physical activity in depth with a Masters by Research (MRes) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). You can also train to teach physical education at primary or secondary level.
