Your Situation: Accepted Offers from Elsewhere

We’ve outlined below the different scenarios you might find yourself in when you receive your results if you have previously accepted offers from other universities but now wish to study with us.

Scenario 1: I’ve met or exceeded the requirements of a conditional offer I accepted from elsewhere but now wish to study at Edge Hill University.

If you meet or exceed the terms of a conditional offer from another university that you made your Firm choice, but no longer wish to take that place, you will be eligible to seek an alternative place through UCAS Adjustment, should you wish to do so.

If you choose to use UCAS Adjustment, you will need to:

  • Register for UCAS Adjustment through UCAS Track. Once registered, you will have up to five days, depending on when your Firm choice offer is confirmed, in which to secure an alternative place;
  • Contact our dedicated Adjustment Helpline, ensuring that you have your UCAS Personal ID number and your results to hand. We will be happy to discuss course options with you and will be able to provide instant decisions to most callers;
  • Decide if you wish to accept any offer of a place that we might make. You can only receive one formal offer through UCAS Adjustment so you may wish to gather information on suitable course vacancies before making a final decision. If we make you a verbal offer and  you wish to accept it, we will send you a formal offer through UCAS Track.

The Adjustment period starts on Thursday 13th August 2020 and ends on Monday 31st August 2020.

If you are not eligible for UCAS Adjustment, for example if you meet or exceed the conditions of your Insurance offer but not your Firm choice, you are still welcome to get in touch with us but we will not be able to formally confirm your place until your original university agrees to release you into Clearing.

Scenario 2: I accepted an unconditional offer from elsewhere but now wish to study at Edge Hill University.

If you have previously accepted an unconditional offer from another university but decide you wish to study at Edge Hill, you will need to be released into Clearing by that institution.

It is best to call our Clearing and Confirmation Helpline first to make sure we can offer you a place before you ask to be released from your original university.

From A Level Results Day on Thursday 13th August 2020, we will be able to provide instant decisions to most callers.

Scenario 3: I accepted conditional offers from elsewhere as my Firm and Insurance choices but have not got the grades required.

If you don’t get the results you need to meet your Firm or Insurance offers from other universities, you may still have your place confirmed at either institution. You should check your status on UCAS Track for clarification.

Alternatively, if you find yourself released into Clearing, you may be able to secure a place at Edge Hill University. Even if you turned down an offer from us previously, we would be pleased to reconsider your application.

You should call our dedicated Clearing and Confirmation Helpline, ensuring that you have your UCAS Personal ID number and your results to hand, and we will be happy to advise you.
