The substantial investment in the University’s accommodation in recent years reflects our aim to provide rooms in halls of residence for all first-year, full-time undergraduate students who wish to live on campus.
How do I apply?
If you have applied to Edge Hill University and firmly accepted a conditional or unconditional offer of a place to study with us, you will be sent an email to the address you provided to UCAS which will explain the application process for on-campus accommodation.
If you have any additional support needs, for example if you have a physical or sensory impairment which may mean you require one of our adapted bedrooms, please indicate this on your accommodation application form.
How are rooms allocated?
We are guaranteeing a place in our halls of residence, for Year 1 of your course, to all new first-year undergraduate students from the UK and EU who are starting a full-time programme in September 2021 and make Edge Hill University their first choice.
This is subject to you submitting an application for accommodation and accepting a Conditional Firm or Unconditional Firm offer of a place on a course before 31 July 2021.
If you accept the offer of a place for September 2021 entry after this date, it may be necessary to prioritise the allocation of remaining rooms, due to demand, based on factors such as the distance from your home address to the University. Priority will be given to care leavers, disabled students with additional requirements, and international students.
Please note, while we will endeavour to place you in your preferred type of accommodation, this cannot be guaranteed and there is a possibility that you may be offered an alternative (for example, a catered package if you asked for self-catered).
The final allocation of halls will be announced in August following the publication of examination results. You will be informed of the outcome of your application for on-campus accommodation via email and sent a Licence Agreement.
How do I pay for accommodation in your halls of residence?
A £150 deposit is due before arrival.
Payment of accommodation fees can be made online by debit or credit card in one of two ways:
- In full with a 5% discount if paid before key collection day (usually the first day of occupancy);
- In three termly instalments.
The majority of students pay in three instalments to coincide with student funding payments.
When do I move in?
If you are successful in applying for accommodation in our halls of residence, you can expect to move in during the weekend before the start of Welcome Week.
Upon arriving at the campus, you will complete the enrolment/registration process and collect the keys to your accommodation, before settling into your room and meeting your flatmates.
Compulsory welcome talks for each hall are designed to introduce you to your accommodation, the facilities around the University, and the rules and regulations for students living on campus.
