Make the most of your morning at Edge Hill Students’ Union
If you’re planning to commute, no matter what route or transport you choose, mornings can take a bit of planning.
If breakfast gets missed or you haven’t had chance to grab a coffee, Edge Hill Students’ Union can make your morning a little easier, however you get here. You can pick up a coffee for just £1 or coffee and a pastry for just £2 between 8am and 10am, and then find a comfortable spot to settle in before the day begins.

The Students’ Union is a welcoming place to catch up with friends, relax after your commute or look over your notes ahead of a day of study.
If you’ve arrived early, there’s plenty to help you pass the time as you can listen to music, watch the large-screen TVs or play video games, darts and pool.
The relaxed and welcoming space is available before and after lectures, with drinks served throughout the day. So, whether you need somewhere to start your morning or a place to take a break later, the SU is there for you. It’s also a great way to feel part of campus life beyond your studies and further experience life at Edge Hill.
Every Edge Hill student is automatically a member of the Students’ Union, where you can meet like-minded people, discover student-run societies and find events that fit around your timetable.
Based at the heart of the Ormskirk campus, the SU also offers free, confidential advice and support when you need it.
Daniel Morana, Head of Membership Services at Edge Hill Students’ Union, said: “Our early morning breakfast offer came directly from conversations with students, who told us they wanted an affordable, welcoming place to spend time on campus beyond their lectures. While the £1 coffee and pastry offer helps students start the day well, it’s really part of a wider commitment to creating a space where commuter and postgraduate students can feel at home.
“Whether they’re studying, meeting friends, grabbing some food, using our gaming and social spaces or simply taking time to relax, we want the Students’ Union to be somewhere people choose to spend time, not just pass through. Building a sense of belonging and community is incredibly important and we’re proud to offer a space that’s been shaped by what students told us they need.”
