Get ready for January assessment period with UniSkills’ Sleigh Your Studies. From growing your academic resilience, to improving your exam preparation and developing your proofreading. Sleigh Your Studies can make sure you feel confident and ready. Most workshops are available online, so you can access them no matter where you are over the winter break.


Get Connected: DIY Decorations & Gifts
Monday 1 and Monday 8 December | 4-6pm | The Hub
Grab a brew, bring your creative vibes and join us for a chilled-out craft session where we’ll be making winter decorations and gifts. We’ll have all the materials ready, but if you’ve got your own crafty project on the go, feel free to bring it along. Come for the crafts, stay for the company.
Commuter Breakfast: Winter Warmer

Your early morning hangout. Start your day the cosy way with a FREE Commuter Breakfast. Pop into Creative Edge for a free hot drink, breakfast pastry and friendly chat with our commuters, as well as all the festive vibes.

Therapy Dogs: Santa Special

Santa Paws is coming to campus. Swing by for cosy cuddles, wagging tails and a whole lot of festive cheer. The cutest study break ever.

Global Café: Festive Takeovers

Booby Bauble Decorating: Boobify Your Christmas

Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote
Tuesday 2 December | 7.30pm | Rose Theatre, Arts Centre
Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote comes to Ormskirk with an interactive screening of the classic Murder, She Wrote episode “Paint Me a Murder”. A unique and hilarious night featuring games, prizes and audience participation, with special permission from NBC Universal Television.

Grab the popcorn and join us for a festive edition of Free Film Friday. We’ll be screening a Christmas classic to kickstart the holiday vibes, but which one? Keep an eye out for the big reveal. The selected film will be announced soon. Until then, mark your calendar and get ready for a feel-good festive movie night on us.
ResLife: Craftmas Lounge and Games Café

Saturdays in December are for wholesome days in. We’ll have Campus Connectors around for a chat, free drinks for early arrivals and chilled crafts for you to get involved with.


Chester Christmas Markets Trip

Wrap up warm and get ready for a magical day out as we head to the sparkling Chester Christmas Markets. Wander the twinkling stalls, treat yourself to delicious festive goodies and soak up the historic city’s Christmas charm. Hop on the bus and let the Christmas spirit do the rest. Learn2Cook: Festive Gingerbread

Ready to level up your holiday baking? Join us for a special edition of our much-loved Learn2Cook class, where we’ll be whipping up delicious festive gingerbread. Perfect for gifting, snacking or showing off on your socials.

Faith & Food

A friendly and informal café style gathering open to those of faith and no faith. There will be light bites, creative crafts and this month’s theme will be based on Advent and Hanukkah.
Social Prescribing Pop Up Winter Special

Edge Hill Carol Concert

Join us for a magical evening of festive music and community spirit as Edge Hill University hosts its first annual Carol Concert at Ormskirk Parish Church. The church will be beautifully lit by candlelight, welcoming guests from across the community.
Pop-Up Chaplaincy
Located in Hale Hall, Pop-Up Chaplaincy offers a gentle opportunity to sit, chat, or simply take a breather.

Reverse Advent
Monday 1 – Wednesday 16 December | 11.30am-1pm | Drop-off point: Student Life Arch
This December, we’re inviting you to take part in our Reverse Advent Calendar initiative. Instead of receiving, we’ll be giving, helping some of the most vulnerable in our local community, with all donated items going to Ormskirk Foodbank.
The Foodbank has requested the following items (but this is not an exhaustive list):
- Alcohol-free Christmas puddings
- Chocolate
- Custard
- Evaporated milk
- Ladies and gents deodorants
- Long-life fruit juice
- Savory snacks
- Shaving cream/gel
- Sponge puddings
Every contribution counts and will make a real difference. Thank you for your generosity.
