The award recognises the University’s efforts to make moving in easy, fun and welcoming for all students.
Based entirely on the voices of students, the Global Student Living Awards for the UK, Ireland and Europe gather direct feedback from tens of thousands of students about their accommodation experiences.
Over 100,000 students contributed to the award calculations and results identified Edge Hill as the best moving-in experience in the UK and Ireland, thanks to its well-organised practical support and welcoming staff and student helpers.
Director of Facilities Management Adrian McGillion said: “Winning an award voted for by students is a huge achievement and honour, and it’s the clearest sign that we’re getting the moving-in experience exactly right.
“Staff from across the University work hard to ensure our students’ transition into halls during Welcome Weekend is as seamless as possible. This award is a well-deserved recognition of the team’s efforts to truly make Edge Hill a home away from home.”

- First in the UK for accommodation, UniCompare 2026
Edge Hill offers a range of different halls to suit the needs of students and all first-years are guaranteed accommodation on campus.
