The award recognises the University’s ongoing commitment to making the transition to university life easy and welcoming as possible for students moving into campus accommodation.
The Global Student Living Awards for the UK, Ireland and Europe are based exclusively on the feedback from students about their accommodation experiences.
More than 100,000 students contributed to the 2026 awards, with Edge Hill recognised for providing the best moving-in experience in the UK and Ireland.
Students highlighted Edge Hill’s well organised arrival experience, practical support and warm welcome provided by staff and student helpers.
Adrian McGillion, Director of Facilities Management at Edge Hill University said:
“It is a tremendous honour to receive an award based entirely on feedback from our students, particularly for the fourth consecutive year.
“Moving away from home and into university accommodation is an important moment in a student’s life. Colleagues and student helpers from across the University work incredibly hard to make the experience as welcoming and straightforward as possible.
“This award recognises their care and commitment to helping students settle in, meet new people and make Edge Hill feel like a home away from home.”
Edge Hill offers a range of accommodation to meet students’ different needs, with all first-year students guaranteed accommodation on its Ormskirk campus.
